My Belief

What I believe about children as learners:

  • Every child is unique.
  • Children need to be offered choices.
  • Children are valued and respected.
  • First you learn to read..then you read to learn.
  • Each child must meet with success each day.
  • Children need to develop responsibility and independence.

    • My belief as a teacher:

    • Learning should be a joyful experience.
    • Remember depth over breadth.
    • Conversation is a part of learning.
    • Look for teachable moments then act on them.
    • Learning should be engaging and challenging.
    • Reading and writing should grow together.
    • Reflection on learning is a part of everyday classroom life.
    • Continue to rethink my teaching by always learning, reflecting and doing.
